We’ve reached the end of the week, I’m proud of us!
The other day I made a post about the importance of relaxing and taking time off work to keep our heads in tact…if you didn’t read it and would like to, then you can find it here.
After this week I think I need to take a page out of my own book, without realising it I am so close to a burnout it’s ridiculous. I haven’t had a day off for over a month now, in my industry, if you don’t take time to clear your head, you will probably go insane. So this morning I have made the executive decision to take a half day so I can gather my thoughts and have a bit of down time. It’s been a stressful one I can’t lie. From my boss throwing a heap load of things to do at me, to taking on new responsibilities. A little overwhelming…
Considering I’m a student I still have a lot to learn and whilst I am flattered to be trusted with some bigger responsibility I feel that a line has been crossed and it’s all a bit too much. Unfortunately the partners who own the company I’m working for do not realise that hiring another employee will solve their stress and work load problems. It’s all well and good having lots of jobs coming in, but if you’re accepting them at the expense of your workers well-being, is it really fair and worth it?
Anyway…rant over, lets move onto enjoying the weekend and making the most of the time we have to ourselves. How do you like to wind down?
